Yumiko Ichinose

Yumiko was born and raised in Yokohama, and currently lives in a neighbouring city of Kawasaki near Tokyo with her husband, a daughter and a son.

Her childhood dream was to work in the tourism industry and help people to experience the wonderful country, Japan. After university she joined JTB, one of Japan’s biggest travel agencies and lived in that dream promoting tours to travellers. That dream was interrupted due to her husband’s transfers to various parts of Japan and to California, but she is very happy now having come back to working in the sector again.

Her hobby is to watch sports, especially baseball games. It is her passion and she goes to stadium for more than 20 times a year. Yumiko also loves travelling by train, especially on those with steam locomotives such as Paleo Express and SL Daiki. Finding local specialty “obento” lunch boxes is another attraction of train travels in Japan.
