I was born in Nagano Prefecture, and grew up in Saitama Prefecture where my family moved.
After studying tourism and hospitality at college, I worked in the corporate sector for several years before deciding to pursue a long-held dream of living overseas. I moved to Thailand, where I studied the local language and had the opportunity to meet people from many different countries and cultures.
Living abroad gave me a new appreciation for Japan—its rich culture, beautiful four seasons, exceptional food, and the courtesy and consideration that are part of everyday life. It inspired me to help international visitors experience the very best of Japan for themselves. After returning to Japan, I joined a travel company, and for the past ten years I have been dedicated to creating memorable travel experiences for overseas visitors.
Today, as a member of the Journey to the East team, I am committed to delivering thoughtfully designed, high-quality journeys that leave each guest with lasting memories of Japan.
My favourite place in Japan is Nagano Prefecture. Surrounded by the magnificent Japanese Alps and breathtaking natural scenery, it is a place I never tire of visiting. Although Nagano is best known for its ski resorts, I especially love visiting in summer. Spending time enjoying fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables, relaxing by crystal-clear rivers, and immersing myself in nature makes every trip truly special.
I also enjoy travelling around Japan whenever I have the opportunity, discovering new regions and experiencing their unique history, culture, local cuisine, and warm hospitality. Every journey gives me fresh inspiration that I can share with our guests when helping them plan their own travels.
Outside of work, I have recently developed a passion for making curry, and I’m always experimenting to perfect my own spice blend.
